When to Italicize, Bold, or Capitalize for Emphasis

Italics are best for titles of works, foreign words, and subtle emphasis. Bold carries more weight and is good for scannable headlines or keywords in technical writing. UPPERCASE is the loudest — reserve it for short, urgent, or label-style text.

Using more than one form on the same word is almost always noise. Pick one.
