Why Proper Nouns Stay Capitalized in Every Style
Names of specific people, places, organizations, and products are always capitalized — even in sentence case, even in minimalist brand voices that otherwise avoid caps.
The rule exists because it carries meaning: "mercury" is an element, "Mercury" is a planet (or a Roman god, or a car brand). Capitalization disambiguates.
